Quick View$12.00 per VERThe project involves promotion of improved cooking stoves (ICS) to the people of socially deprived community; specifically to the Dalits (the so called untouchables) and Janajatis (indigenous people). The project intends to avail the households with clean cooking solutions; thereby, displacing the less efficient traditional cooking stoves from the kitchen with stoves of better efficiency. Replacement of the traditional cooking stoves with ICS will reduce the exposure of the family members, specifically women, to the indoor air pollution and therefore result in saving of health related expenses. Each stoves disseminated under the project will potentially reduce the firewood consumption by half.

Quick ViewThe project includes restoration of degraded mangrove habitats through the planting of 4,500,000 mangrove seedlings in discrete parcels of land on a total area of 1000 hectares across the island of Sri Lanka. The objective of this project is to initiate a long-term community-based conservation and management programme to increase the extent of tropical mangrove forests and local biodiversity in Sri Lanka. This project will also provide forest goods and services to the local community members in a sustainable manner.
On offer is 50% of the carbon output of the first 500 ha, that was planted in 2021/2022. Between the start and the issuance of 2034, this volume is estimated to be around 115.000 VCUs.

This agroforestry project aims to plant 15 million trees in two phases of planting, in the district of Sonbhadra in Uttar Pradesh, India. Trees planted will be monitored for 10 years. Situated between 23°52’N and 31°28’N latitudes and 77°3’E and 84°39’E longitudes, this is the fourth largest state in the country in terms of area, and the first in terms of population. As per the census of 2011, the state has a population of 199,581,477 with a density of 828 people per square kilometre, making it one of the most densely populated states in the country.
Sonbhadra is the second largest district by area in Uttar Pradesh and the planting will be done in all blocks of the districts, namely: Robertsganj, Ghorawal, Chatra, Nagwa, Chopan, Babhani, Myorpur, Duddhi. VNV Advisory is partnering with SGI to plan and deliver this project.
